Maureen Welch, LPC

Before counseling, I spent a while in non-profits as a fundraiser. And before that I was a Women, Gender and Sexuality major, which I thought was a whole lot of fun.

I attended the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Antioch University New England and graduated from there in 2015. I worked in a community mental health program focusing on women from 2015-2017, running outpatient and intensive-outpatient groups as well as providing individual therapy.

While I was working as a pre-licensed clinician I received Basic I and II EMDR training from the Humanitarian Assistance Program. In 2017 I became a Licensed Professional Counselor and opened a private practice alongside my Therapy and Wellness for Women colleagues. I completed a year-long seminar in integrating Ego State Therapy and EMDR, and have continued to train and present on topics of dissociation and complex PTSD. I became an EMDRIA Certified Clinician in 2019. In Fall 2021 I was honored to return to teach in my graduate program at Antioch University New England as an adjunct faculty member.
